JAZZ AMPS

In Jazz music, as in other styles like Rock or Heavy Metal, guitarist can use an amplifier to get better his own sound or to increase its volume in a band.

In contrast to another styles, jazz guitarist demands that his sound to be clean, to be listened in all its nuances. In other words, jazz guitarist use clean sounds, sometimes adding some effects as reverb or a light chorus. Here we bring a list of the most popular jazz amps:

-Roland Cube 60. Perhaps one of the most popular amps in jazz music. It´s a solid state amp, lightweight and versatile, that it´s no longer being manufactured. However, Roland build another similar amps in 15, 20, 30, 40 and 80 watts, today.

-Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus. A classic one, used by great guitarists as Pat Metheny o Pat Martino. It´s a solid state amp, some heavyweight, but charming with its eighties like look.

-Fender Blues Jr. A 15 watts amps, some noisly, but with a mellow valve sound.

-Fender Jazzmaster Ultralight (Altavoz+Cabezal). A very lightweight solid state amp, with a cool look.  

-Ibanez Wholetone WT80. A newcomer which has all that a jazz guitarist needs top lay in and out of his home and, in addition, for little money. It´s a solid state amp with reverb and chorus.

-Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Perhaps one of the most popular jazz amp, used by gitarists in all the world from the 90´s. It´s a lightweight tube amp that sound reasonably well.

-Peavey Classic 30. Another very popular tuve amp. As the Hot Rod, very handly and with a calid soud, but perhaps some noisly.

-Fender Twin Reverb. It´s also one of the most popular, with thousand of followers along the world. Wes Montgomery used its antecessor, the 65´Twin Reverb.

-Vox AC30. Although it´s actually a rock or pop amp made, may be used to play jazz but with its clean sounds. It´s John Scofield preferred amp one, although some people say that it breaking easy.

-ZT Amplifiers. It´s a new company which amps has a very good look and tone, and not seem very expensive.
